Welcome to Kapwa Star. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Kapwa Star website, platform, and services (collectively referred to as the “Platform”).
By accessing, browsing, creating an account, submitting content, or otherwise using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately stop using the Platform.
Kapwa Star is a global business discovery platform and directory designed to help users find and explore Filipino-owned businesses, services, organizations, and community resources around the world.
The Platform is free to use and exists to support discovery and visibility for both large and small Filipino-run businesses and organizations worldwide.
Features of the Platform may include:
• business listings
• search and discovery tools
• business profiles and contact information
• user reviews and ratings
• photos and media
• promotional listings and advertisements
Kapwa Star operates solely as a technology platform that organizes and displays information submitted by users, businesses, and administrators.
Kapwa Star does not own, operate, manage, or control any businesses listed on the Platform.
By using Kapwa Star, you agree to comply with these Terms and all policies referenced within them.
Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any updates or modifications made to these Terms.
Users may create accounts to interact with the Platform.
Users are responsible for:
• maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials
• ensuring account information is accurate
• all activity conducted under their account
Kapwa Star reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at its sole discretion.
Kapwa Star operates as an open discovery directory designed to help users find and support Filipino-owned businesses and organizations around the world.
Business listings may be created by:
• business owners
• users of the Platform
• administrators of Kapwa Star
Because listings may be submitted by users or third parties, Kapwa Star does not guarantee that every listing accurately represents the business or organization it claims to represent.
To help users identify legitimate listings, Kapwa Star may display a Verified Business badge.
A Verified badge indicates that the business owner has provided documentation or other proof confirming that they represent the business associated with the listing.
Only listings displaying the Verified badge should be considered confirmed as managed by the actual business owner.
Listings without a Verified badge may still appear on the Platform but have not been confirmed as officially managed by the business owner.
Users are responsible for conducting their own research before engaging with any business listed on the Platform.
Kapwa Star does not guarantee the accuracy, legitimacy, quality, availability, or reliability of any business or service listed on the Platform.
Users may submit content including:
• reviews
• ratings
• comments
• photos
• business information
• other contributions
By submitting content to the Platform, you agree that:
• you are solely responsible for the content you publish
• your content reflects your honest experience or knowledge
• your content does not violate any laws or rights of others
By posting content on Kapwa Star, you grant the Platform a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, distribute, and promote your content.
Reviews and ratings reflect the opinions of individual users.
Kapwa Star does not verify every review and does not guarantee that reviews are accurate, complete, or truthful.
Kapwa Star does not endorse any business or opinion expressed on the Platform.
Users rely on reviews and community feedback at their own discretion and risk.
Kapwa Star may offer advertising opportunities that allow businesses to promote their listings or services on the Platform.
Businesses may purchase advertising placements or promotional listings that may increase the visibility of their business within search results, category listings, or other areas of the Platform.
Promoted businesses may appear before or alongside other businesses in certain discovery areas of the Platform.
Advertising participation may influence how prominently a listing appears within the Platform.
Advertising relationships do not influence or alter user reviews, ratings, or moderation decisions.
Businesses cannot pay Kapwa Star to:
• remove reviews
• modify reviews
• suppress reviews
• influence ratings
Kapwa Star reserves the right to determine how promotional placements and advertising are displayed.
Kapwa Star may use various factors to determine how businesses appear within search results and listings.
These factors may include but are not limited to:
• relevance to search queries
• location or proximity
• listing completeness
• user activity or engagement
• advertising participation
Kapwa Star does not guarantee specific placement or ranking of any business listing.
Kapwa Star respects user privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal user information to advertisers, marketing companies, or data brokers.
User information is used only for operating and improving the Platform.
Kapwa Star reserves the right, but not the obligation, to:
• remove reviews or user content
• edit content for guideline compliance
• remove business listings
• suspend or terminate accounts
• restrict platform access
Moderation decisions are made at the sole discretion of Kapwa Star.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kapwa Star and its owners, employees, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any damages or losses arising from:
• user-generated reviews or content
• business listings
• inaccurate or outdated information
• interactions between users and businesses
• reliance on information provided through the Platform
This includes but is not limited to:
• financial loss
• reputational harm
• service disputes
• indirect or consequential damages
Use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.
By using Kapwa Star, users agree to release Kapwa Star and its owners from any claims or disputes related to:
• reviews posted by users
• business listings
• interactions between users and businesses
• platform content
Kapwa Star acts solely as a neutral technology platform and discovery directory.
Any dispute related to the use of Kapwa Star shall be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than court proceedings.
Users agree to waive:
• the right to a jury trial
• the right to participate in class action lawsuits
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services.
Kapwa Star is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites.
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.”
Kapwa Star makes no warranties regarding:
• the accuracy of business listings
• the reliability of reviews
• uninterrupted access to the Platform
• the availability of any services listed
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kapwa Star and its owners, affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses resulting from:
• user-generated content
• violation of these Terms
• misuse of the Platform
Kapwa Star may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use of the Platform after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
